Yes, you need the book.

Caesar had another code besides the cipher...

I find a good place to start is at the beginning...of each corresponding number.

PM me if you really need help. smile.gif

does the code we need have to do with a square? i am lost and now have a headache

yep,, it does

Don't forget to do the last part after you make the box. Thats what had me messed up. The box didn't make sense until leila5 pointed out to me that I had forgot to do something. Thanks leila5!

SO I think I have all the correct information, now can I get a hint- is there a specific reordering that I need to do?

that's where the first part of the clue comes in.

krayzee_munkee- 04-15-2008
GOSH! After ages I FINALLY got it! Really good clue Godsyrche! I love it! All I can say is, if you go on wikiHow, and type in how to decode a Caesar Cypher, you'll get your answer.

siren- a box like a magic square, or some other type of box?

yes like a magic square, but no math.

wizardboy- 04-15-2008
box code...thats all i have to say

tabisammi- 04-16-2008
OMG!! That was hard, but got it! Ok the numbers tell you where to go, look for something BIG on the first page that corresponds to that number. Make your box, you are looking for 2 words

Godsryche- 04-16-2008
Ok, in all seriousness...

This is the best "hint" I can give for anyone that still gets stuck on this:

Each of the numbers leads to one letter, some may even be the same letter.

The "E" does not stay an "E", but it is the real hint for this clue. Figure out where that "E" leads to and you will get the rest of it.

Ok, what I dont understand is that if we are supposed to use Ceasars cypher then why are there numbers instead of letters? Thats what i am having trouble with because i have googled ceasar and codes and got no where.

for the upteenhundreth time...you do not use the Cypher, and the numbers become letters. The caesar thing you are supposed to use comes in AFTER you turn the numbers into the appropriate letters.

One of those tedious clues. For the questmasters, these kinds of clues aren't so polite to adults who do this at work. tongue.gif

I absolutely hear your concern. Fact is - this quest is meant to be challenging...and we would never offer a clue that we didn't think questers were up to solving. This clue actually was created and devised by a great quester.

A note on questing. Many a times I have done other quests that took me lots of time to solve. For example: the notpron site. You have no idea how long I sat on some of those pages for days...trying to figure things out....and that was without a forum, without any clues.

I think of this quest in relation to Harry. Sometimes the clues/quest for him was so challenging, he wasn't sure he'd find the answer...but he worked with friends - and he always found his way. This quest is no different - we would never offer up something we did not think you could solve...and once you do, you'll find a great sense of accomplishment in doing so.

If we made the clues easy, we would never hear the end of it.

I know that you can figure this out - and with questers' help, you are sure to get this clue.

If you want specific assistance from me, just email me (as my pm is disabled courtesy of Darkeyes) and I'll be happy to help you out.

Your book is the only way your going to solve this code. It has exactly what you need to break it.
Cesaer made two things. Pay close attention (if you search) to the one that includes info describing whats in a book.
